Bagpipes for Hire

I joined the Gordon Highlander’s Pipe Band of Locust Valley, Long Island, NY, in 2004, and I've been playing with them ever since. Over the years I have been performing with the Gordon Highlanders in numerous parades. Some such parades we march in during a typical year are, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, 4th of July, Little League Baseball, and Fire Department tribute parades, along with these we also march every year in the Tartan Day and Veteran’s Day parades both located New York City.

As a solo piper, I found my first opportunity when I got the chance to explore the land of my Thompson Clan ancestors. Thanks to the help of Albright College and their indefatigable efforts, I connected with the St. Andrew’s Society of Philadelphia; who subsequently awarded me a grant of scholarship to study abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. There I played the pipes in front of the Scottish Capital's Parliament building during the 2014 Referendum. After returning to Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania for my senior year, the school asked me to play at the Convocation for the entering freshmen. Thanks to this event and my lovely professors who spread the word me and my bagpipes, I began playing at further events such as weddings, a First Responder's Church Service, and a Fire Department Banquet at places like Valley Forge, the Northstar United Methodist Church, and Stokesay Castle. Now after graduating and returning home to New York I have played at weddings, restaurants, University of Edinburgh Alumni Club meetings, Robert Burns' Suppers, and more. These opportunities in New York found me playing at the St. James' Church and the Union Club in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, The Highlands and Milleridge Inn restaurants, the Penn Club of New York City, and others.

If you feel your event needs a bagpiper, don't hesitate to contact me, I'm a friendly fellow and open to any type of event!
